Island Tests Athlete’s Mental, Physical Strength during Odyssey Swim Run Event

While most of Mackinac Island stayed sleeping, athletes competing in the Odyssey SwimRun event gathered under a cotton candy sky at Shepler’s Ferry Dock at 6:45 a.m. Sunday morning, August 28, 2022, to begin a test of physical and mental endurance hiking the Island’s steep, rugged trails and swimming through the choppy, chilly Lake Huron waves.

 

Upper Peninsula Football Club Hosts Inaugural Mackinac Cup

The Upper Peninsula Football Club (UPFC) made its debut against the Livonia City Football Club (LCFC) as part of the inaugural Mackinac Cup contest that drew hundreds of Island residents, seasonal employees, and tourists to Great Turtle Parl Saturday evening, August 28.

 

175 Teams Compete in Annual Pond Hockey Tournament

Since 2007, the Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Championship has grown from an event that drew 24 teams in its first year to a tournament with 175 teams of varying experience from across the country.
